Todays experience -byu devotional

 Today I woke up at my early time as usual

And I prepared this morning as I usually do with music and prayer

Then I left for aerobics got there at 6:30, And I stayed for little over 30 minutes, I had a really strong impression to go to the live BYU devotional, by Grant J. Jensen : Choosing God’s best blessings:family.

So I got out of the pool and I went, At 7 AM in the morning. It was snowing really hard, which is kind of weird because it’s May 7,   It was snowing and while I was driving, I was praying that I could be more like the snow that I could be more clean and pure, And as everybody else was seeing it as a hassle, how cold it is, How Miserable It seems to be  and the snow is ruining everything…..I was loving it!! to be snowing. I was truly enjoying it. And then I was praying about my baptism, Which I hope is soon, 

I got approved to be baptized,  Almost 2 weeks ago, I’m so looking forward to the date,  And I was praying through the snow that I could be as pure as the snow and that sin and darkness would leave and that God would accept me, through my baptism.

Anyway, I showed up to the Marriott center at 7 AM, It was closed, I asked a dear brother if he worked there, He said yes, but it doesn’t open till 9:30,  I am so grateful for that, dear brother who gave me a chance, Who didn’t just walk past. But he let me know of the time, He took the time out of his time to help me, and Let me know when it started, 

I need to be more like this Dear brother, I need to take the time out of my life and help others,  this Dear brother, After the devotional was done, Saw me in the front row and said “I am so glad that you were here and that you made it.”

That meant everything to me… To feel welcome…

When I was finally able to go in, I went straight down the steps all the way to the front rows as far as I could get so I could see the speaker, so I could learn from him….that’s a long walk for having a bad back….

Well, when you show up almost an hour and a half early, You get to notice a few things, You get to watch the people around and their examples. 

So I decided I was going to observe today.

The speaker today,  Grant J. Jensen …..Was inspired in every way, I am so grateful for his message, The thing that stood out to me the most, Was his example of how to take criticism, With love, After his practice talk, A young lady came up to him and was telling him about things that we’re gonna happen and gave him a few suggestions.. I could tell that he was listening to her with real intent. He really wanted help from her…And in the Real talk, he used her suggestions, And it was amazing how much stronger the spirit was the second time I heard his talk. 

When people give me suggestions that are inspired, Am I open to them or do I instantly dismiss them? 

I need to be more like my dear brother who gave the talk, He was a great example on being open to suggestion, Righteous suggestion.

I showed up at 9:30 went straight down to the bottom row,And I asked the camera lady if it was OK if I sat here next to her.. She responded go ahead. 

She welcomed Me with such love, she didn’t question who I was. She just knew that I wanted to be there to feel the spirit.   I am grateful for her example to not question others but to accept everyone. 

Am I being more accepting of others that I am not sure of?

As i was waiting for the actual talk to begin, Ushers came down and began to do their jobs by cleaning up the seats by preparing everything, The seats, the floor, the restriction section, they were doing everything they were asked to do, so everybody could have an enjoyable time, They blocked off the camera section that I was sitting in, And when I noticed, I turned around, And said would you like to me to move?

These dear sisters did not question me sitting in the wrong section,I don’t know why they let me stay there, But they were willing to allow me to sit there and Enjoy the talk, What these dear sister’s did not know, The longer I sit the harder it is to get up, Move and then get comfortable again with my back. 

These sisters did not know. I was disabled, But I think deep down they did.

I am so grateful for their love,I saw in both of their faces, I told them about me writing poetry and wanted to share it with everybody, then I asked how do I get up on the stage? How do I get up there and share my messages? They kind of laughed it off, not knowing if I was serious …….

I was…….

I then said ,Would you like to read some of my poetry ?

And they gladly accepted

After she read it 

she said “I have never looked at that, that way”

 She read my   “misery, loves company Thought”

I could tell she was truly pondering it…

After the talk,one of them came down and protected the lower gates, so nobody would go in to where the speaker was, after the talk was over, She diligently Did her job.  I am so grateful she didn’t sit back behind me talking, right after the talk, she got up and she went and did what she was supposed to do,I could tell she loved her job and what she did and She was devoted to it. 

The example I can learn from these sisters….Is when Somebody Asks me to do something, If it’s righteous, I just need to agree to it…And have more faith, as she/they showed to me…by following their supervisors. And what they were, asked to do.  I see that as true obedience. Thank you for your example…

In the beginning, I was watching how people shake hands, How people walk Around, How those that are popular interact with each other, And those that are shy, stay to themselves.

There was one gentleman, He had such an overwhelming Christlike love around him, That when he shook somebody’s hand,He had a POWERFUL LOVE about him. I felt it… And I wasn’t even close….to him, I was about hundred feet away….

That dear brother has so much love, and understanding of God‘s desire to serve. He took time out of his life to go round and shake everybody’s hand, And make sure that they knew that they were welcome….

I went there to observe,   But this, dear brother…Had so much Christlike love with in him…. He noticed I was watching him,And he came over to me….

I had to say thank you, to him for being an amazing example…..

I wish

I could talk

I wish i could have all that love

that passion of Christ in me

 that he had. 

Every time I shake somebody’s hand,I wish I could have the love that he had in his eyes in that handshake..  

I Was so blessed, 

He saw me looking at him. 

He came right over to me….And he gave me that exact same handshake filled with God’s love…

From the lower level

He reached up to the upper level where I was sitting 

I want to share that love with others…

this dear brother is showing more people that he loves them, He cares for them, He lets them know that they matter…..

And then in the end. One person stood out to me like nobody else, And I kept thinking, maybe that’s the reason why I’m here. 

Maybe I need to talk to him.

There was a security guard also blocking the gate, He looked up at me a few times, which is understandable because he was doing his job.  I watched him, He was very diligent in his work, When somebody passed by certain people, He would faithfully watch that person, who walked by and the security guard made sure that nothing happened.. I know it was more than just Money, why He did his job, I could feel the love that he had for the person or people he was protecting….  I truly believe that if they quit paying him right now, he would…

Continue to show up, And do what he was asked to do…

because he loved the people he was protecting…

 in the end, as I was waiting for….

 I don’t know what …..

I was just waiting to get feeling back in my legs, I asked the security guard about the gentleman in the blue suit with the blue tie, He was the one that stood out to me more than anybody…… 

At that time, I didn’t know why,

 I didn’t know….who it was, 

And he didn’t know who i was…

I asked the security guard. Would it be possible for him to go over and ask the gentleman in the blue suit, blue tie. If he would be willing to talk to me….Again, I don’t know why, I just felt like I needed to say it….

The security guard noticed that I had a yellow package in my lap, He asked me what it was. I pulled out my iPad, And said I put it in here because it was raining and snowing this morning and I didn’t want it to get wet and get ruined… He seemed to Accept this….

But I could tell he was still weary of me, which is totally understandable,,, He said he would do what he thought was right… He went over to his supervisor …(I’m guessing…. )

And told them of the situation.  Immediately, before he came back one of his helper officers, Came up and stood in the row opposite of me,  Because this officer wasn’t sure of the situation, He did the smartest thing, the wisest thing, He had more people watch me, Well, he was doing what his supervisor asked him to do…. That was very wise…. He then approached me and said, He is a very important person, I don’t think you’re gonna get the time with him, But in the end, if he can, I will ask him…..

I want to thank you for your amazing example of doing what is right…..You followed the guidelines 100% , You acted as you should,You alerted everybody of a possible situation.  

 And you acted…..

I am so grateful for your example of doing your job correctly and what you were asked to do….

You are an amazing example to me.

When I am asked to do something that is righteous, that is going to protect somebody. I need to be obedient as much as my dear brother, the security guard was….

I need to be 100% in my work in my activities with God, I am so grateful of your example that you showed to me. I need to be more like you.…As you were….

Thank you for your amazing example of doing what’s right rather than doing what’s easy….

And for the gentleman who was dressed in the blue suit and the blue tie, 

I found out who this was….And I now know, why he stood out to me so much…

He had God with him, And I crave that so much….

I am so grateful for all the amazing examples that I had today

At a devotional that I had no clue why I went there. 

5-7-24

I was going to stop there, but I’m going to finish my day, After the devotional, I drove home, I took off my suit jacket, Set it on the bed, And something didn’t feel right, I felt like I had to go back to the pool for some reason.

I was really hoping that a friend of mine, that I’ve been looking forward to talk to, Would show up because I haven’t seen him in three weeks.

He never showed up. So I decided to clean the pool, It didn’t need it,

 But I think I needed it……

While I was cleaning, I turned on my music. And just got into it, cleaning and listening to my music, 

As I was finishing up a gentleman that I have never seen before, Came in and asked if the pool was open, Because he saw me cleaning it.

I said absolutely come on in, I’m just finishing up anyway.

It took him about five minutes to come in, And it took me about five minutes to put all the equipment and everything else that I used away.

I introduced myself,  As did he…

I told him about my volunteer job that I do, And he asked me a question about the pool…

And I had to decide at that moment….How much I wanted to tell him. Because the pool is very dear to me, And I will protect it as much as I can.

(If you don’t come to the pool, you won’t understand, So please come to the pool, I will tell you….)

And we got talking about the pool and how important is to him, He drives 45 minutes,For this pool, It is a heated Therapy pool That stays at 93° Which is amazing for people who are in pain.

And I told him about all the benefits that the pool has been for me, And I told him, I am more, than willing to help him, With anything he needs help with,So that he can get back in shape, I said if there’s anything that you see me doing that might look weird, Ask me about it. And I would love to share with you why I do it and I would love to see you get better and help you improve your life..

 we quit talking for a bit, and we both went our separate ways, he in his lane and me in mine, I kept just doing my normal thing. 

It was Starting to get late and the pool was about to close, So he jumped in the hot tub, And I had a strong impression to go over and talk to him…..

We talked for a bit and the thing that stood out to me the most is…..

I know he loves his wife so much,He is devoted to her in so many ways….He has tried so many things, and ways to bless his family.

We talked for a good half an hour in that hot tub, Which is not safe by the way… 

I am so grateful that I got to talk to my brother in the hot tub for that time,The pure devotion and love that he has for Christ, The way he talked, He is an amazing spiritual man, The way he thinks is amazing, I could listen to him all day because,  he is so precise in the way he talks, he thinks about what he says, He talks with such passion.

I look forward to talking to him again, 

It is amazing. What happens when you listen to God.

If I would’ve just gone to the pool this morning, And ignored that little whispering…… 

that I had to go to that devotional…

I would’ve missed out on this amazing day…

As I was leaving the pool…..

I finally got word……

of the day of my baptism…….

And my new brother, who I have been talking to in the pool…hot tub

Was there when i Received the text…..May 23rd is my Baptism date,7pm

All are welcome…
