Deep thoughts —the sword

As you are going through life, you’ll see many things that would be fun to have.   You see a person giving swords away and (you think); That is a nice looking sword on the table, You ask if you can try it. So you pick it up and test its weight, You look at it and admire what you see, How sharp it looks, How beautiful it is, Then you start to swing it around, And you become more comfortable with the Sword in your hands, Then you test how strong (you think) The sword can become if you equip it, What you can do with it.

You start off small by cutting off a (blade of grass) You are amazed at how sharp the sword is, How easily it went through the (grass) As you continue to test what the sword can really do, You begin to carry the sword around with you, And begin to have more trust in the sword, You believe the sword will help you in any situation you come upon, Each day you carry the sword, you get more confident in its strength.   As you look back at that small (blade of grass), You begin to (think), Why did I try it on something so small then the (thought) comes to your mind, (You can take the sword and cut so much more with it.) As you give into this thought (You think) What more can I cut?   You find a (bamboo shoot), And you swing the sword, You are amazed again, how sharp the sword really is. You go back to the (salesman) And ask if you can have another sword to give to somebody else. The (salesman)gladly accepts. And offers you a (job) to give out swords.

Then you find your closest friends, and show them the sword, And tell them all that you have discovered so far.  You begin to (think) Now that I need to give these out, I really need to see what I can do with this sword, You again look around for something to cut. And you see a (tree.) you begin to swing the sword and chop down the( tree.) Again, you are amazed how sharp the sword is and what kind of damage you can do with it.   As you look around, you see the (grass, bamboo and the tree). And notice how they are dying and withering away, You caused all that death and decay with this sword that you (thought) was so mighty.   You begin to realize you don’t want to destroy things, However, You took upon yourself this sword and the job.   The first thing you have to do is truly desire to put down the sword. To give it up, You must destroy the sword, So that you never have any desire to use it again.  Then you must seek out those You have shown the sword to And( tell them) You are sorry for showing them the sword.. You must (tell them) The dangers of having the sword with them. And what horrible damage it can cause. And help find ways to destroy the sword with them, So it doesn’t take over their life as it did yours!!!! .

Now I want to look at this story in a different way, With a few changes.

The sword - wickedness

You think - satan putting desires in your mind

Salesman - satan

Blade of grass- Hand

Bamboo - Feet

Tree - Heart

Tell them- Missionary Work

Now, as you see how you have hurt yourself, And hurting your body when you repent and give this to the Lord, you are now hurting our savior Jesus Christ in the same way that you’ve hurt yourself, We must desire never to hurt our savior again, By making him go through these painful experiences, we took upon ourselves.

Jesus Christ truly loves us and is willing to do this for us,

Are we willing to be better so we don’t hurt him?
